A month ago or so, I received a two piece suit from Phulkari by Taana Baana’s Spring/Summer Collection 2017 as a promotional gimmick. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t like free joras? Not me! So, as I excitedly opened the pack, I found a dark blue printed shirt and plain pants in blue. The blue of the pants didn’t quite match that of the shirt and while the quality of the cloth was fine, the print was nothing to really gush over.
Anyway, I decided to get it stitched nonetheless because as my “designer” of a sister says, it’s less about the print and more about how you get it stitched. And she couldn’t have been more correct. I got a short shirt in a shift dress-type fit with bell bottoms that seem to be trending once again. Here’s how the result came out.
The following are two pictures, one from the shoot and one my own that will give you a good idea of the colour difference i.e. shoot vs reality!
As you can see, the pants aren’t as blue as they seem. In any case, I loved how my tailor stitched the pants and the shirt to perfection! And honestly, I’ve received more compliments wearing this freebie than I did wearing some of the most expensive designer lawns of the season!
